Let’s talk payroll

The rhythm behind payday

A clearly agreed process, before the first pay run.

Good payroll starts before payday.

A dependable pay cycle is built on the right information, a clear calendar and a proper approval. We start by understanding your existing arrangements, then agree what PayDirect will handle and what your team needs to provide.

  • A documented payroll calendar
  • Defined inputs and approval responsibilities
  • A considered onboarding and handover
  • A clear route for payroll queries

Your pay cycle.
Your working calendar.

For a weekly cycle, discuss the regular input cut-off, approval contact and how late changes reach the next run.

Calendar questions to agree with your team. No pay calculation.

The detail that keeps things moving

Four parts.
One agreed rhythm.

01

A pay cycle built around you

Weekly, fortnightly or monthly: tell us how you pay your people. We agree the inputs, cut-offs, review points and responsibilities before the first run. Changes, corrections and queries have a defined route, rather than becoming a chain of last-minute emails.

02

Irish payroll, in plain English

Your agreed service can cover the preparation and administration of payroll, payslips and relevant outputs. PAYE, USC, PRSI, Revenue reporting and pension-related payroll requirements are considered within the scope agreed for your organisation. The service proposal sets out the responsibilities that remain with the employer.

03

Approval with a clear owner

Payroll needs an authorised decision-maker. We agree who supplies changes, who reviews the output and who gives final approval. Your pay dates and reporting responsibilities are documented as part of the handover.

04

Useful information after the run

Tell us what your finance team and accountant need. The reporting format, delivery method and query process are agreed during onboarding, so the next person in the chain understands the output.

Before you begin

Good questions.
Clear answers.

Can you work with our accountant?

Yes. We can discuss a payroll handoff that includes your accountant, with authority, information-sharing and responsibilities agreed by the relevant parties.

Do we have to change everything at once?

No. We first review the current process and agree the scope and timing of any change. Compatibility and the handover are confirmed before a start date is set.

Are rewards part of payroll?

Rewards participation is discussed separately during onboarding. Qualifying activity, the earning basis and redemption terms must be agreed; payroll pay and deductions remain separate from programme points.
